DSC#136 - Butterfly Basics -Faux Tile Technique Card

DSC#136 - Butterfly Basics -Faux Tile Technique Card

The Faux Tile Technique in the background adds such elegance to the card, and it is really fun to do too.  Watch my video below and work along with me to create this beautiful card background.

DSC#136 - Butterfly Basics -Faux Tile Technique Card

Basic Instructions:

  • Cut (2) Whisper White CS @ 3-3/4" x 5" for layer 2 - the other one will be for the mask in the video
  • Using the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set stamp the ferns with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the little decorative piece using Crumb Cake Ink.This will be the same 
  • On a scrap piece of Whisper White CS, stamp the butterfly then cut out with the matching framelits.  Use Silver Foil CS to cut out Decorative Butterfly with the Butterfly Framelits.
  • Cut Basic Black CS base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and score at 4-1/4".
  • Cut Crumb Cake CS @ 4" x 5-1/4" for layer 1
  • You will now use the Simply Scored Diagonal Scoring Plate to do the Faux Tile Technique on this card.
  • (SEE MY VIDEO ON HOW TO DO THE F AUX TILE TECHNIQUE ON LAYER 2)
  • Add the 1/2 piece of a Tea Lace Paper Doilie to layer 2
  • Loop some Linen Thread and place under the butterflies.
  • Add 3 pearl gems to butterfly and then add a small Whisper White Bakers Twine.
  • Envelope Liner was made with the Envelope Punch Board and the Moonlight Paper Stack
