Flower Patch Hello Life Card

Hi Stampers,
So did you have a change to look over the retired list of Stampin Up items that are going to saying goodbye forever?  Just in case you missed my Tuesday post,  I will put the PDF Retired list at the end of today's post for you or you can also view them by clicking HERE.

The card post for this week is my Flower Patch Hello Life Card.  I used both the Flower Patch and Hello Life Stamp Sets for this card.  Once again, I have made this card for both the DSC#129 DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge and also for this weeks Mojo Monday #394 Sketch Contest.

The color combination for the DOstamper Thirsday Challenge was a very difficult one for me. I can't tell you how many times I changed layer 1 on the card.  Nothing was clicking for me.  What I ended up doing was to use a sponge dauber, some Bermuda Bay Ink, and the Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks to make my own custom striped paper for the Bermuda Bay layer on the card giving it a little soft contrast pattern in the background of the card without over powering the card itself.  For the card base I used the Whisper White CS. The polka dot layer was from the Monsters Designer Series Paper from my Halloween paper leftovers.  All the flowers were stamped and cut with the Flower Patch Photopolymer Bundle and Bermuda Bay, Pistachio Pudding, and Daffodil Delight Inks.

Both the matching custom envelope and it's liner were both made with the Envelope Punch Board.  For the envelope liner, I used a sheet of paper from the Monsters Designer Series Paper to match the dots on a small portion of my card and pull it all together. (See once again, Halloween Paper doesnt always have to be just for Halloween as the papers are 2-sided). I stamped the "Hello Life" with the Hello Life Stamp Set.  The final "tweak" factor was adding 2 little Rose Red Candy Dots that were close in color to Strawberry Slush, and to put a little looped Linen Thread behind the flowers for dimension and a little piece of Whisper White Ribbon behind all of it before attaching layer 1 to the card .  I hope you enjoy the card, As always, if you have time I would love to hear your comments on the card.  God Bless!
